Finally had a chance to visit the Design Gallery for leisure.  I was determined to get something before I even went close.

Back to square one -- I started oil painting class after CNY. Everything has to start all over again.

Nice weekend

Going to galleries, shopping, reading, watching TV ... well, a little bit of work too ... What a nice way to spend my time.

Will start oil painting classes on Wednesday, a two-solid-day workshop on arts for disabled over the next weekend, long working days expected for the next two weeks at least.

Tough time ahead.

這麼「和諧」的片段，應該不會在新聞內看得到，因為傳媒喜愛「衝 突」、「衝擊」。 有時傳媒所報導的「衝突」，我看到的只是記者為了搶新聞的推撞。

興建高鐵 = 促進香港經濟發展？

我還是弄不明白，究竟興建高鐵是如何促進香港經濟發展。我看到的，是興建高鐵讓香港人認命，接受香港優勢不再，於是我們要興建高鐵，讓商賈可以「更快」地返回內地投資、巡視業務；於是我們要興建高鐵，讓專業人士可以一小時內到內地上班，晚上再用短於一小時的時間返回香港睡覺。當這些(稍為)富有的人都不在香港，香港的基層市民又如何就業呢？還是要北上當廉價勞工？

香港的經濟發展模式，總是讓富有的更富有，貧窮的更貧窮。

我想我是成長於「大香港精神」的年代，我總覺得香港每進一步融入內地，便進一步邁向消失。

每次遊行集會唱《人民之歌》，我都覺得無奈──為甚麼我們現在仍要唱「看吧！人民在挽手，爭取正義和自由」？

歷史巨輪

最近在看幾本叫《圖解世界史》的書。

基本上，當教育程度提高了，人民不需再為基本生活擔憂了，甚至有些人小富起來了，這批中層/中產便會希望參與公共事務/社會決策。當他們發現原來權力掌握在一小部份人手上時，衝突便會發生。無論是十八、九世紀歐洲各國的內戰/革命/改革，或者各個殖民地的獨立抗爭/起義/戰爭，都走不出這個規律。

歷史巨輪浩浩蕩蕩，誰也躲不了。
